So someone I adore is in the hospital, has been for a while, but the only reason she’s still alive after a cardiac arrest she has a few days ago is because the nurses didn’t know she had a DNR. Now the doctors have said that it would probably be best to withdraw from dialysis, basically a death sentence. I hate watching her family go through this- she’s a grandmother, and I’m really close with both her daughter and granddaughter and as painful as this whole thing is for me I can’t even begin to imagine what they’re going through knowing how little time they have to prepare and say goodbye.

Flawless Films → The King’s Speech
“If I’m King, where’s my power? Can I form a government? Can I levy a tax, declare a war? No! And yet I am the seat of all authority. Why? Because the nation believes that when I speak, I speak for them. But I can’t speak.”
